Description
The Best Coffee Punch is a creamy, refreshing beverage combining the richness of whole milk, the smooth sweetness of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, and an invigorating coffee syrup made from instant coffee and sugar. Perfect for parties, this easy-to-make punch blends dessert and caffeine in a deliciously chilled treat.
Ingredients
Liquid Base
- 1 gallon whole milk
Ice Cream
- 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
- 1/2 gallon chocolate ice cream
Coffee Syrup
- 1/4 cup powdered instant coffee
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Make Coffee Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the powdered instant coffee, white sugar, and water. Heat the mixture gently, stirring continuously, until the sugar has fully dissolved and the ingredients are well incorporated. Be careful not to let the mixture boil.
- Chill Syrup: Transfer the syrup to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. During this time, it will thicken slightly to a syrupy consistency, enhancing the punch’s flavor.
- Prepare Punch Bowl: When ready to serve, pour the chilled coffee syrup into a large punch bowl to serve as the flavorful base for the punch.
- Add Milk: Pour the entire gallon of whole milk into the punch bowl with the coffee syrup, stirring well to combine the flavors evenly.
- Add Ice Cream: Scoop the vanilla and chocolate ice cream into the punch bowl. Stir gently to mix, allowing the ice cream to chill the punch and add creaminess. The ice cream does not need to melt fully before serving; it acts as the cooling element of the beverage.
Notes
- The ice cream serves as both flavor and a natural ice, keeping the punch cold without diluting the flavor.
- Do not boil the coffee syrup to avoid a burnt or overly bitter taste.
- This recipe serves about 20 people, making it great for large gatherings or parties.
- Use full-fat whole milk for best richness and creaminess; however, substitutions can be made based on dietary preferences.
- The punch is best served immediately after preparation but can hold for a short while if kept chilled.
