Description
Spiderweb Bark is a festive, easy-to-make treat perfect for Halloween or any spooky occasion. Layers of dark cocoa candy melts cover crispy graham crackers, decorated with a delicate white candy melt spiderweb design and topped with vibrant red jumbo nonpareils for a fun and eye-catching finish.
Ingredients
Base
- 12 to 16 whole chocolate graham crackers
Chocolate Coating
- 1 12-ounce package dark cocoa candy melts
- 1 cup white candy melts
Toppings
- Red jumbo nonpareils, for topping
Instructions
- Arrange Crackers: Lay the graham crackers in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet, breaking pieces as needed to fill the space completely.
- Melt Candy Melts: Melt the dark cocoa candy melts and the white candy melts separately in medium microwave-safe bowls, following the package instructions for safe melting.
- Coat Crackers: Pour the melted dark cocoa candy melts evenly over the arranged graham crackers and spread with an offset spatula or the back of a spoon to cover the surface in one smooth layer.
- Create Spiderweb Design: Quickly spoon the melted white candy melts into a resealable plastic bag, snip off a small corner, then pipe 4 or 5 concentric circles in one corner over the dark chocolate layer. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center outward to form a delicate spiderweb pattern. Repeat this across the entire bark while the chocolate is still wet.
- Add Toppings and Chill: Sprinkle red jumbo nonpareils over the wet spiderweb design for a festive touch. Refrigerate the sheet until the candy melts are firm and set, about 15 minutes. Once firm, break the bark into pieces and serve.
Notes
- Work quickly when piping the white candy melts to ensure the spiderweb pattern is spread smoothly before the chocolate sets.
- Use an offset spatula for even spreading of the dark cocoa candy melts to avoid breaking the crackers.
- Store any leftover bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
- For extra color variation, try adding orange or black candy melts to enhance the Halloween theme.
