Description

These festive Jack ‘O Lantern Quesadillas are a fun and easy Halloween-themed snack or appetizer. Made with flour tortillas and melted cheddar cheese, the quesadillas feature cut-out faces resembling classic jack o’ lanterns. They are cooked in a non-stick skillet until golden and melty, perfect for serving warm with salsa and sour cream.

Ingredients

Quesadilla Ingredients

  • 6 fajita-sized flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Serving Suggestions

  • Salsa, for dipping
  • Sour cream, for dipping

Instructions

  1. Cut faces in tortillas: Using a sharp paring knife, carefully cut jack o’ lantern faces out of three of the tortillas by removing eyes, noses, and mouths to create fun Halloween designs.
  2. Heat the skillet: Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and allow it to get hot, preparing it for cooking the quesadillas.
  3. Assemble quesadilla: Place one of the uncut tortillas in the center of the skillet. Evenly sprinkle one-third of the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Then place one of the face-cut tortillas on top of the cheese layer.
  4. Cook first side: Cook the quesadilla on the first side for about 2-3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning. The cheese will begin to melt and the bottom tortilla will become golden brown.
  5. Flip and cook second side: Carefully flip the quesadilla using a spatula and cook the other side until it is toasty golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  6. Repeat for remaining quesadillas: Repeat steps 3 to 5 for the remaining tortillas and cheese to make all three quesadillas.
  7. Serve warm: Serve the Jack ‘O Lantern quesadillas warm with salsa and sour cream for dipping to complement the cheesy, crispy goodness.
