Description

These festive Grinch Oreo Balls are a delightful holiday treat made with red velvet Oreos and cream cheese, coated in vibrant green candy melts and topped with red heart sprinkles. Perfect for Christmas parties or any occasion needing a sweet, colorful dessert.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 package Red velvet Oreos (22 cookies)
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 7 oz green candy melts
  • Red heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to prevent sticking and to make cleanup easy.
  2. Make Oreo Dough: In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until fine crumbs form. Add in the cream cheese and mix again until a soft dough forms, ensuring the mixture is well combined.
  3. Form Balls: Using a 1 tablespoon measuring spoon, scoop out the dough, roll it between the palms of your hands into balls, then place them on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used. Chill the dough balls in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt Candy Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the green candy melts in 30-second increments, stirring between each to prevent burning. If the candy melts are too thick for dipping, add 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil or any unflavored oil and mix until smooth.
  5. Dip Oreo Balls: Using a chocolate dipping fork, dip each truffle ball into the melted candy melts, coating evenly. Place coated balls back onto the baking sheet. Repeat until all balls are coated.
  6. Decorate: Transfer leftover candy melts into a piping bag and drizzle over the dipped truffles. Immediately place a red heart sprinkle on top of each to create the iconic Grinch heart.
  7. Set and Serve: Allow the truffles to set in the refrigerator for a few minutes until hardened. Enjoy your festive Grinch Oreo Balls!

Notes

  • Freezing the dough balls before dipping helps them hold their shape during coating.
  • If you don’t have a chocolate dipping fork, a regular fork or toothpick can be used carefully.
  • To store, keep the Oreo balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  • For an extra smooth coating, be sure to stir the candy melts thoroughly during melting.
  • Adding a small amount of oil to candy melts improves dipping consistency and shine.
