Description

Enjoy a refreshing and healthy treat with these Frozen Banana Yogurt Bites. Made with ripe bananas, creamy natural yogurt, and optionally topped with crunchy dried banana chips, these bite-sized snacks are perfect for a quick dessert or a nutritious snack. Freezing the mixture creates a delightful texture that’s both cooling and satisfying.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe banana
  • 150 g natural yoghurt (or yoghurt of your choice)
  • Handful of dried banana chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cups: Lay out approximately 12 cupcake cases or silicone muffin cups on a small baking sheet or tray that fits inside your freezer.
  2. Mash the banana: Peel the banana and place it on a plate. Mash it thoroughly with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth with minimal lumps.
  3. Combine banana and yoghurt: Transfer the mashed banana into a bowl and add the yoghurt. Whisk the mixture together until fully combined and creamy.
  4. Fill the cups: Spoon the banana and yoghurt mixture into each cupcake case, dividing evenly. Optionally, sprinkle dried banana chips on top, either whole or broken pieces, for added texture and flavor.
  5. Freeze: Place the baking tray with the filled cups into the freezer. Leave to freeze for about 2 hours or until set solid.
  6. Serve or store: Once frozen, remove the bites from the cupcake cases and serve immediately, or store them in an airtight container or freezer bag to enjoy later.

Notes

  • You can use any type of yoghurt you prefer, such as Greek yoghurt or flavored varieties, but natural yoghurt works best for balanced flavor.
  • Dried banana chips add a nice crunch but are optional; you can also experiment with other toppings like chopped nuts or berries.
  • If you don’t have silicone muffin cups, regular cupcake liners work as well.
  • For easier removal after freezing, consider using silicone molds instead of paper cases.
  • These bites are best consumed within a week for optimal freshness.
