Description
A quick and delicious flatbread pizza recipe that can be ready in just 10 minutes. Using naan or store-bought flatbread as the base, this easy pizza is topped with classic red sauce, melted mozzarella, and your favorite toppings, then baked to perfection for a crispy, cheesy treat perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Flatbread Base
- 4 pieces naan or storebought flatbread (each about 8 inches)
Pizza Sauce & Cheese
- 1 cup red pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Other
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
- Desired pizza toppings such as pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, onions, etc.
- Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Place a baking sheet on the middle oven rack and preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it is hot and ready to bake your pizzas evenly.
- Prepare Flatbreads: Lay out the flatbreads on a sheet of parchment paper and lightly drizzle each with olive oil or avocado oil. This adds flavor and helps achieve a golden, crispy crust.
- Add Sauce and Cheese: Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over each flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce on each flatbread.
- Add Toppings: Place your favorite pizza toppings like pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, or onions evenly over the cheese for added flavor and texture.
- Bake the Flatbread Pizzas: Transfer the flatbreads along with the parchment paper onto the preheated baking sheet. Bake for 8-12 minutes until the cheese is fully melted, bubbling, and the edges of the flatbread are crisp and golden.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the flatbread pizzas from the oven and garnish with fresh basil if desired. Slice and serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- You can use any flatbread variation such as pita, tortilla, or homemade naan.
- Adjust toppings and cheese quantity based on personal preference.
- For extra crispy crust, place the flatbread directly on the oven rack but watch carefully to avoid burning.
- If you prefer a vegan version, substitute mozzarella with a plant-based cheese alternative.
- Keep an eye on baking time as ovens vary; remove pizzas once cheese bubbles and edges are browned.
