Description
These Easy Tiramisu Cups are individual servings of the classic Italian dessert featuring layers of creamy mascarpone cheese, soaked ladyfingers in espresso, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Perfect for a delightful no-bake dessert with rich, velvety textures and bold coffee flavors.
Ingredients
Mascarpone Cream
- 1 lbs Mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- 2 cups Heavy cream, cold
- ½ cup Granulated sugar
Other Ingredients
- 14 Ladyfingers
- 1 cup Espresso, cooled
- 1 tablespoon Liqueur (optional)
- 2 tablespoon Cocoa powder, for dusting
Instructions
- Prepare the espresso: Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and let it cool for a few minutes. Set aside while preparing the mascarpone cream.
- Whip the cream and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cold heavy cream and granulated sugar. Using an electric hand mixer, whip until stiff peaks form, being careful not to overbeat to avoid forming butter.
- Mix mascarpone cheese: Gently fold the room temperature mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream with a spatula until a smooth, creamy mixture forms.
- Prepare piping bag: Transfer the mascarpone mixture into a piping bag. Cut a large hole in the tip, no piping nozzle needed.
- Assemble tiramisu cups: Begin by piping a layer of mascarpone cream into each glass. Break ladyfingers into thirds and quickly dip them (1-2 seconds) into the espresso mixture, then layer them on top of the cream.
- Repeat layers: Add another layer of mascarpone cream, followed by another soaked ladyfinger layer, and finish with a final layer of mascarpone cream.
- Chill: Cover the cups with lids or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours to allow flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly.
- Serve: Just before serving, dust the top generously with cocoa powder and enjoy your tiramisu cups.
Notes
- Use room-temperature mascarpone cheese to avoid lumps in the cream mixture.
- A single tiramisu cup serves about 2 people.
- Choose high-fat, full-fat mascarpone cheese for stability and richest flavor.
- Do not overmix the cream to avoid a grainy texture; mix just until soft peaks form.
- Select dry, crisp Italian savoiardi ladyfingers to maintain structure when soaked.
- Dip ladyfingers briefly (1-2 seconds) in coffee to prevent sogginess.
- Chill for at least 3 hours; preferably 4-6 hours or overnight for best flavor and texture.
- Dust cocoa powder immediately before serving to prevent moisture absorption and sogginess.
- Scrape down mixing bowl sides frequently to ensure a homogenous mascarpone cream.
- Use the best quality ingredients available for an optimal dessert experience.
