Ingredients
Base Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Cheese
- ½ cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated, divided
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded, divided
Seafood & Herbs
- 2 – 6 oz cans white crab meat, drained
- 2 tbsp fresh chives, plus extra for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Mix Base: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and freshly ground pepper. Use a hand-held mixer or whisk to blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add Cheeses, Crab, and Seasoning: To the base mixture, add ¾ cup of shredded mozzarella, ¼ cup grated parmesan, drained crab meat, garlic powder, and chopped fresh chives. Gently fold everything together with a spatula until well incorporated but still fluffy.
- Prepare for Baking: Transfer the crab mixture into a small baking dish such as a pie dish or an 8-inch casserole dish. Evenly sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake until Golden and Bubbling: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Bake until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the cheese topping is melted and lightly browned.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, then sprinkle fresh chives over the top for garnish. Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
Notes
- Use fresh or canned white crab meat, but ensure it is well-drained to avoid excess moisture in the dip.
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce.
- The lime juice adds a bright contrast to the richness; do not skip it.
- This dip can be made a few hours ahead and refrigerated; bake just before serving.
- Serve with crispy wonton chips, pita wedges, or fresh vegetable sticks for variety.
