Description
Dracula’s Dentures are a spooky and fun Halloween treat made with chocolate chip cookies, red vanilla frosting, marshmallows, and almond slivers to create creepy vampire teeth. Perfect for parties or festive snacking, these no-bake, easy-to-make snacks delight kids and adults alike with their playful presentation and delicious flavors.
Ingredients
Cookies
- 1 package (18.25 ounces) refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough or your favorite cookie recipe
Frosting
- 1/2 cup prepared vanilla frosting, tinted red
Teeth
- 1 3/4 cups miniature marshmallows
- 48 slivered almonds (for vampire fangs)
Instructions
- Prepare Cookies: Bake the chocolate chip cookies according to the package instructions or your preferred recipe. Allow them to cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Cut Cookies: Once cooled, cut each cookie in half to create a total of 48 cookie halves.
- Apply Frosting: Spread a thin layer of the red-tinted vanilla frosting on the bottom side of each cookie half.
- Arrange Teeth: On 24 of the frosted cookie halves, arrange 6 miniature marshmallows along the curved edge to form the vampire teeth. For added stability, you can place an extra marshmallow behind the teeth.
- Assemble Dentures: Gently place the remaining 24 cookie halves on top of the marshmallows, positioning them so the marshmallow teeth are visible and slightly protruding.
- Add Fangs: Insert two slivered almonds between the marshmallow teeth to serve as sharp vampire fangs. If the almonds don’t stick well, dip the tips into frosting before inserting.
Notes
- For sturdier teeth, adding an extra marshmallow behind the row of marshmallows helps support the top cookie half.
- You can tint the vanilla frosting with red food coloring to achieve the ‘bloody’ gums effect.
- Slivered almonds act as fangs but can be substituted with white candy melts or small pieces of white chocolate for a nut-free option.
- These treats should be stored in an airtight container at room temperature and are best enjoyed within 2 days.
