Ideal for a special dinner or weekend feast, this American classic elevates simple ingredients into an indulgent meal.
Ingredients
Steak
- 4 pieces ribeye steaks, about 1-inch thick, 8 oz each
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Parmesan Cream Sauce
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the Steaks: Evenly season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor.
- Heat the Skillet and Cook Steaks (Side 1): Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter until bubbling. Place the steaks in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes without moving them to develop a nice sear.
- Flip Steaks and Add Garlic Butter: Using tongs, flip the steaks to the other side. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic into the skillet. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness, allowing the garlic to infuse the butter and steak.
- Rest the Steaks: Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy steak.
- Prepare Parmesan Cream Sauce: Lower the heat to medium. Pour the heavy cream into the same skillet, whisking continuously to scrape up any browned bits from the skillet bottom, adding flavor.
- Incorporate Parmesan Cheese: Add the grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet and whisk for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens to a creamy consistency.
- Season Sauce: Taste the sauce and season with additional salt and pepper if needed to balance flavors.
- Serve: Slice the rested steaks, plate them, and generously drizzle the Parmesan cream sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and fresh taste.
Notes
- You can substitute ribeye with sirloin, filet mignon, or any steak cut of your choice.
