Description

These Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps are a delicious and comforting meal perfect for lunch or dinner. Tender cooked chicken is sautéed with fragrant garlic and Italian seasoning, then combined with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, and shredded mozzarella or cheddar. Wrapped in warm tortillas and grilled until golden and melty, these wraps offer a perfect blend of cheesy, garlicky flavors with a satisfying crispy exterior.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Wraps

  • 4 large tortillas
  • Fresh parsley for garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Sauté Garlic: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, making sure not to burn the garlic as it can become bitter.
  2. Heat Chicken: Add the cooked chicken to the skillet. Season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat evenly and heat through. Using leftover rotisserie chicken is recommended for extra flavor and convenience.
  3. Mix Cheeses: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix until smooth, ensuring the cream cheese is softened to facilitate blending.
  4. Combine Chicken and Cheese Mixtures: Remove the skillet from heat. Add the chicken mixture to the cream cheese mixture and stir until fully combined.
  5. Assemble Wraps: Lay out the tortillas and evenly divide the chicken mixture in the center of each. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top. Fold the sides of each tortilla over the filling and roll tightly into wraps.
  6. Cook Wraps: Heat a clean skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese inside is melted. Press gently with a spatula to ensure even browning and to help seal the wraps.

Notes

  • Use leftover cooked chicken or rotisserie chicken for convenience and flavor.
  • Be careful not to burn the garlic while sautéing to avoid bitterness.
  • Softening the cream cheese makes mixing much easier and smoother.
  • Pressing the wraps while cooking helps seal them and creates a nice crispy exterior.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired for a pop of color and freshness.
