Description

Soft Chewy Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies blend sweet, tart, and rich flavors in every bite. Juicy cherries and melty chocolate chips are folded into a soft, buttery dough that bakes to perfection—chewy on the inside, with golden edges. A fruity twist on a classic favorite.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 and 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup dried cherries (or 1 and 1/4 cups fresh/frozen cherries, chopped and patted dry)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and cherries evenly.
  7. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons or cookie scoop onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers are still soft.
  9. Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use white chocolate chips for a sweeter version.

Add chopped pecans or walnuts for extra richness.

Dried tart cherries and dark chocolate chunks make it festive.

Sprinkle with sea salt before baking for a gourmet finish.

Store with a slice of bread to maintain chewiness.
