Description

Pizza Style Cottage Cheese Bake is a protein-packed, lighter take on pizza flavors. With cottage cheese, mozzarella, pizza sauce, and customizable toppings, this baked dish is creamy, cheesy, and family-friendly.


Ingredients

2 cups cottage cheese (low-fat or whole milk)

2 large eggs

1 1/2 cups pizza or tomato sauce, divided

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

Pizza toppings of choice (pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, spinach, etc.)

Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together cottage cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on the bottom of the dish.
  4. Pour the cottage cheese mixture evenly into the dish.
  5. Top with remaining pizza sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Add desired pizza toppings across the top.
  7. Bake 30–35 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let cool slightly, garnish with fresh basil, and serve.

Notes

Blend cottage cheese before mixing for a smoother texture.

Mix in cooked ground turkey, sausage, or chicken for extra protein.

Use ricotta instead of cottage cheese if preferred.

Make vegetarian by loading with zucchini, mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers.

Add crushed red pepper flakes or jalapeños for spice.
