Description

Halloween Bloody Baked Brie is a spooky yet elegant appetizer featuring creamy brie wrapped in golden puff pastry and topped with red jam that oozes like ‘blood.’ It’s festive, dramatic, and perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

1 wheel of brie cheese

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1/3 cup red jam (raspberry, cherry, or strawberry)

Optional garnish: fresh rosemary sprigs or black olives

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place brie in the center of puff pastry. Fold pastry up and around brie, sealing edges tightly.
  3. Brush pastry with beaten egg for shine.
  4. Bake 20–25 minutes, until pastry is golden and puffed.
  5. Transfer to serving plate. Spoon red jam over top, letting it drip down sides for a ‘bloody’ effect.
  6. Serve warm with crackers, baguette slices, or apple wedges.

Notes

Add jam or chopped nuts inside the pastry for extra flavor.

Caramelized onions or roasted garlic make a savory filling twist.

Cut puff pastry scraps into bats or spiders for a spooky decoration.

Assemble ahead of time, then bake before serving.

Reheat leftovers in oven for best texture; avoid microwave if possible.
