Description
Halloween Bloody Baked Brie is a spooky yet elegant appetizer featuring creamy brie wrapped in golden puff pastry and topped with red jam that oozes like ‘blood.’ It’s festive, dramatic, and perfect for Halloween parties.
Ingredients
1 wheel of brie cheese
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1/3 cup red jam (raspberry, cherry, or strawberry)
Optional garnish: fresh rosemary sprigs or black olives
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place brie in the center of puff pastry. Fold pastry up and around brie, sealing edges tightly.
- Brush pastry with beaten egg for shine.
- Bake 20–25 minutes, until pastry is golden and puffed.
- Transfer to serving plate. Spoon red jam over top, letting it drip down sides for a ‘bloody’ effect.
- Serve warm with crackers, baguette slices, or apple wedges.
Notes
Add jam or chopped nuts inside the pastry for extra flavor.
Caramelized onions or roasted garlic make a savory filling twist.
Cut puff pastry scraps into bats or spiders for a spooky decoration.
Assemble ahead of time, then bake before serving.
Reheat leftovers in oven for best texture; avoid microwave if possible.
