Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-style)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
2–3 tbsp olive oil or butter (for cooking)
Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness and season with salt and pepper.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mix of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and garlic powder.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in eggs, and coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side.
- Alternatively, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and serve hot.
Notes
Add shredded mozzarella on top for extra cheesiness.
Include paprika or cayenne in breadcrumbs for a spicy twist.
Use turkey cutlets or pork chops as a variation.
Swap breadcrumbs for almond flour and crushed pork rinds for low-carb.
