Description

Easy Crockpot Chicken and Gravy is a hearty, no-fuss comfort food featuring tender slow-cooked chicken smothered in rich, savory gravy. With minimal prep, it’s the perfect weeknight dinner served over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.


Ingredients

23 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

2 packets chicken gravy mix

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1 1/2 cups chicken broth or water

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional: 1/4 cup sour cream (for added creaminess)

Chopped parsley (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours until chicken is tender and shreds easily.
  5. Shred chicken with two forks directly in the crockpot and stir into the gravy.
  6. If desired, stir in sour cream for extra creaminess.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

Use chicken thighs for a richer flavor.

Add frozen peas or cooked carrots near the end for added vegetables.

Use garlic herb or Italian seasoning for a flavor twist.

Thicken gravy with a cornstarch slurry if needed.
