Description

Cinnamon toast is a nostalgic comfort food made with buttery toasted bread topped with a sweet cinnamon-sugar mixture. It’s quick to prepare, perfectly crisp, and irresistibly delicious—ideal for breakfast, snacks, or a cozy treat.

Ingredients

4 slices of bread (white or brioche preferred)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon until combined.
  3. Spread softened butter evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously over the buttered side, pressing lightly so it sticks.
  5. Place the slices on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are golden and sugar has melted into a shiny topping.
  6. Optional: Broil for an additional 30 seconds for extra crispiness—watch closely to prevent burning.
  7. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm.

Notes

Use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar for a richer, molasses-like flavor.

Add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom for extra warmth and spice.

Mix the butter, cinnamon, and sugar together into a paste for a faster prep.

Toast bread first if you prefer a quick toaster version—add butter and sugar mix afterward.

Store leftover slices in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day.
