Description

Soft, chewy, and buttery cookie bars loaded with chocolate chips, baked in a single pan for easy prep and cleanup.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking to combine.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  4. Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  5. Spread dough evenly in prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake 22–28 minutes, until edges are golden and center is just set. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Mix in chopped nuts for extra crunch.

Swap semi-sweet chips for dark, milk, or white chocolate.

For festive bars, add candy-coated chocolates or swirl in peanut butter before baking.
