Description
Soft, chewy, and buttery cookie bars loaded with chocolate chips, baked in a single pan for easy prep and cleanup.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking to combine.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
- Spread dough evenly in prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
- Bake 22–28 minutes, until edges are golden and center is just set. Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Mix in chopped nuts for extra crunch.
Swap semi-sweet chips for dark, milk, or white chocolate.
For festive bars, add candy-coated chocolates or swirl in peanut butter before baking.
