Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup apple cider (not juice or vinegar)
- 4 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan thoroughly.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, beat granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until well combined. Add eggs and mix for 2 minutes.
- Stir in applesauce and vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and apple cider to the wet mixture, mixing until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cake cool in the pan for 1 hour before inverting onto a wire rack or cake plate.
- In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar for the topping. Brush cake with melted butter and generously coat with cinnamon sugar mixture.
